Toronto is situated on the northwest shore of Lake Ontario and is the economic powerhouse of Canada. It is one of the largest gateways into Canada and also a base to proceed to the Niagara Falls, one of the wonders of the world.
Toronto’s many immigrants transform the city into a patchwork of neighborhoods. Food shopping, concerts and bars, you can spend days and weeks exploring the urban landscape. There are many things to do in Toronto. A favorite is a trip to the top of the CN telecommunications tower, which at 1815ft height, gives wonderful views over the city and lake. Also recommended is a trip to Casa Loma castle with its intriguing secret passages and a 800ft underground tunnel. Also not to be missed is a trip to the spectacular Niagara falls, on the Niagara river between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, bordering with the USA. And a point not to be forgotten, the best views are still from the Canadian side. There are dozens of taller waterfalls in the world but in terms of sheer volume these falls are unbeatable. More than a million bathtubs of water plummet over the edge every second. Even in winter when the flow is partially hidden and the edges freeze solid, the watery extravaganza is undiminished.
From exciting theme parks and incredible zoos to spectacular gardens and festivals, Toronto offers a daily adventure for people of all ages.
